This easy granola recipe will change your life! With only a handful of ingredients, you can make the healthiest, most delicious granola imaginable!
But before I share the recipe, I want to share that I used to strongly dislike granola. At first, I couldn’t stand the extremely coarse, overly crunchy texture. It was so hard to chew, and hurt my jaw and teeth just thinking about it.
After feeling this way about granola for a big chunk of my life, I decided that maybe I was getting the wrong kind. So I tried many different brands and flavors, and they all tasted like cement to me.
I never really thought about making my own granola at this point because I was under the impression that they all taste bad, and are too hard to chew. Later, when I learned about seed oils through Dr. Cate Shanahan’s book Deep Nutrition, I started reading ingredients in storebought granola. I was surprised to find that 95% of granola had seed oils as one of the ingredients!
I then developed an interest in making my own, because now I was curious about perfecting the texture of granola and using healthier oils.
It took me many failed attempts before I learned what texture I wanted. With that said, I finally have a delicious, easy (and jaw-friendly) granola recipe to share with all of you that I know you will love. I do have to warn you, though, you will be addicted to this granola recipe, and will want to make it all the time.
What is the best type of oats?
When looking to purchase oatmeal, you want to make sure you get a good quality one. Oats are highly sprayed with pesticides and glyphosate, so opt for Gluten-Free and Organic Oats.
Some additional suggestions for this recipe include using unbleached parchment paper and a non-toxic baking pan.
If you don’t have quick-cook oats, you can pulse them in a food processor or a blender for a few seconds.
I hope you enjoy this easy granola recipe. It will effortlessly become a staple in your home. Get ready to have your home smelling incredibly warm and welcoming!
