Energy Balls with Rose

Energy balls with rose

I can’t say I eat a lot of energy balls, I much rather prefer a homemade pastry, cake, or cookie, but that was before I decided to experiment with rose flavors. I’m slightly obsessed with rose, rose flavors, rose scents, and pretty much anything roses, so I knew I had to make a rose flavored energy ball.

There is an overwhelming amount of unhealthy energy bar options out there, some even like to do what’s called “green washing” where they market a product as “healthy” using key words, but they tend to be anything but the majority of the time. Bars are also usually not perishable so you don’t even know when it was made.

Making your own energy balls is surprisingly not as difficult as it may seem at first. It takes very little time. Making fresh food, even energy bars/balls is an investment to your own personal health. One’s health is the most important wealth a person can have!

Ingredients

The two main ingredients in this recipe are dates and roses. Both of which I recommend to get high quality ingredients from sources you trust. I have been really loving purchasing dates from an organic locally sourced farm that ships me the most delicious dates I could ask for. I am a forever customer! They are fresh and delicious, and if you want to know what I mean, you have to give them a try. Only then will you understand. Their company is called Medjool Days. If you want to try them out, use Medjooldays discount code RIPSY38369 for 10% off your order. I don’t say this lightly, so trust me, they are definitely worth it!

Unique Benefits of Rose

Since roses are our second main ingredient, I want to give a little background on them as well. Roses have been used for hundreds of years. They have been used for multiple benefits. For one, rose water is great when used as skincare because of its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties.

Research also shows that roses can help with skin tone, dryness, and acne prone skin. Additionally, roses also help with boosting moods, anxiety, and have an overall calming effect on the body. Of course with proper handling, roses are beneficial both internally and externally, and in my personal opinion, as a bonus, they smell ridiculously good!

Some people prefer subtle rose hints when it comes to food, while others (clears throat…) don’t mind a little something extra when it comes to roses. This recipe I created is not overpowering, but you will definitely get to taste the incredible rose flavor. When it comes to spices, I am passionate about using high quality, sustainable products, preferably ones that are from a single source origin.

Now that you know all the marvelous qualities roses can offer, I hope you are ready to make these delicious rose energy balls. Let’s blend!

Much love and light,
