An Easy Mango Jello Recipe You Will Love

I love making Mango Jello! Better yet, I love eating homemade, box free, delicious mango jello (or any other flavor) with no additives or preservatives. It is so easy to put together you’re going to wonder why you never made it from scratch to begin with.

There are very few ingredients you need to make this mango jello recipe. You will need grass-fed beef gelatin powder, mango juice, honey, and some optional extras such as a cute jello mold, and some almonds soaked in water. But it literally is that easy! What’s fun with making this homemade mango jello is that if you have kids, you can have them help you with the stirring part!

Making jello with gelatin powder involves this process called “blooming”. This is basically mixing gelatin powder with a little bit of juice, stirring, and letting it set for about 5 minutes until firm. (This is the part where kids can help)

Benefits of Jello

Eating jello is a great way to take collagen. Collagen is beneficial for maintaining healthy skin, joint, nails, and gut health. Gelatin not only has collagen, but also protein, and eating jello is a great way to get all those healthy nutrients in your body in a delicious way.

This recipe does make a lot of jello, so if you’re using a mold like mine, be prepared with additional bowls to pour the extra jello. You can use any food storage container of your choice or something like these and even have extras to put in gummy bear or chocolate molds if you have them).

For this mango jello, I used the large 64 oz. container juice with mango lemonade flavor. If you are planning on using almonds with the mango jello recipe, make sure you plan ahead and soak them in water for at least 5 hours.

The hardest part in making jello is the waiting. It does require refrigerating for it to solidify for about 5-6 hours (preferable overnight) so just remember to plan ahead if you want this mango jello.

I also love all the possible flavors and garnishes you can create with jello. See below for topping and/or filling ideas. Also, feel free to use your favorite ingredients and don’t be afraid to think out of the box!

Jello Topping or Filling Options

raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, almonds soaked in water for at least 5 hours, coconut flakes, rose petals, whipped cream, mangoes, kiwi, or grapes

I hope you enjoy the delicious jello dessert treat and I would love to hear your thoughts on it if you make them!

Instructions

1. In a small mixing bowl, add 1 cup of reserved room temperature mango juice, and 4 tbsp gelatin powder. Stir set aside for 5 minutes or more so it to blooms (hardens).

2. In a medium saucepan, pour the remainder of the mango juice and bring to a barely boiling temperature. You will see some steam and tiny bubbles starting to form, that is when you want to turn the heat off.

3, Immediately after turning off the heat of your barely boiling mango juice, add the bloomed gelatin mixture. Stir with a rubber spatula until the gelatin mixture is dissolved.

4. Next add the honey and stir once again and let it cool for about 10 minutes.

5. Once everything is cool close to room temperature, pour the jello into your jello mold and refrigerate for at least 5-6 hours or overnight. Garnish with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Note *Depending on how cold your refrigerate is, this time may vary. I like to open the lid and give it a nice shake to see how much it jiggles, it should be firm and not jiggle too much when the jello is set.
