A Refreshing Matcha Latte Recipe

Matcha Latte is such an incredible alternative to your usual coffee routine. When you just want to change things up and still get your caffeine fix, an iced matcha latte is great option. It will wake you up without the jitters and has amazing health benefits.

Japanese matcha is powdered green tea that contains powerful antioxidants. According to the National institute of health institute, studies were done to show the following health benefits from the consumption of high quality matcha. “Increases cognitive functions, memory, neuroprotection, strengthens blood vessels, and decreases neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, aging process” and much more! In order words, it is very good for your brain.

As a coffee lover, I try to remind myself of all these benefits, and make a mental note to make and drink it more often. I also do care about high quality matcha and prefer it to be derived from a single source, like Japan! I am not a fan of the bitter taste some matchas have, but I am happy to report the one I use does not have a bitter taste at all and I am simple in love with the quality. I purchase matcha from myencha, and I couldn’t be happier! The texture is smooth and silky, and amazing quality.

There are several ways to enjoy a matcha latte. You can use milk, store bought plant milk, or homemade almond milk. Homemade almond milk is my absolute favorite way to enjoy it!I have the BEST almond milk recipe in my book “Ripsy’s Recipes” I also prefer to use homemade vanilla extract when available and if you want to make your own, I have a recipe for that too!

I love whisking my matcha with the traditional matcha whisk, but if you’re short on time you can also use a manual milk frother. So, if you’re ready to make this delicious healthy drink, let’s get start
