Whipping up delicious breakfast or lunch can’t get any easier that avocado toast. How do you make it? Have you tried it with a variety of flavors? I am happy to share my favorite way of enjoying a quick, healthy, light, but filling meal that requires no stove or oven.
If you haven’t tried making avocado toast with the tips and tricks I am going to share, I really think it’s worth giving it a try. Although subtle, you will notice subtle engagement of flavors makes a big difference. Tip #1 Toast your bread! I know this is a pretty obvious one, but toast it, and toast it well. The ingredients that are using in smashing avocados gets mushy and the last thing I would want is a soggy avocado toast.
Tip #2 Garlic! That’s right, we’re going to combine a mild garlic flavor that really goes a long way and gives that extra kick in flavor, but not enough to be overpowering. All you will need is a garlic clove sliced in half. Then you just rub that garlic on the bread a few times and discard.
Tip #3 Toppings! My favorite unpopular topping to a good avocado smash it sesame seeds. I loveee the combination of the two flavors! Plus you get the added bonus of an additional healthy ingredient.
Lastly, Tip #4 use lime instead of lemon. Lemon goes great with avocado, but personally I like pairing it with lime so much more. (I only recently discovered the miraculous powers of a lemon/lime juicer and I can’t believe how much I actually love using this thing!) There is a subtle difference that is noticeable enough to be worth it. Try my recipe if you just want to make avocado toast that tastes different. I hope you enjoy!
